🎊 I’m writing a chapter in a journalism textbook!
Reporting on mental health since 2015 ushered me into my Academia Era. I’ve even begun public speaking and guest lecturing on college campuses this year. MAGA 2.0’s attack on higher education inspires me to get further into collegiate circles that resist fascism.
The chapter I’m writing is called More Than a Byline: Taking Care of Yourself While Covering the News. It’s the perfect place to distill my experience as a mental health journalist in a way that teaches future reporters how to take care of themselves when reporting on challenging subjects.
This chapter also prepares students for the dangers of being a journalist in authoritarian regimes that attack the free press and detain reporters.
I’ll share more info about the textbook soon, but in the meantime…
I’d love your help.
